โš ๏ธ Crypto Liquidation Price Calculator

Find the liquidation price for a leveraged long or short position. Includes a warning that each exchange's exact formula differs.

Warning: this is a simplified estimate for isolated-margin positions. Each exchange uses its own exact formula, funding rates and margin rules โ€” always check the liquidation price shown by your exchange before trading.

Estimated liquidation price: $72,400.00

Price must move 9.50% down from your entry price to reach liquidation.

Higher leverage moves the liquidation price closer to your entry price. At 10x leverage, roughly a 10% move against you can liquidate the position.

About this tool

When you trade crypto with leverage, you borrow money to open a bigger position than your own funds. If the price moves against you far enough, the exchange closes (liquidates) your position automatically and you lose your margin. This calculator estimates that liquidation price from your entry price, leverage and maintenance margin.

The formula shown here is a simplified one for isolated-margin positions. Every exchange uses its own exact formula, funding rates and margin rules, so the real liquidation price on your exchange can differ. Always check the liquidation price shown by your exchange itself before opening a leveraged trade.

Formula

Long: Entry ร— (1 โˆ’ 1 รท Leverage + Maintenance margin). Short: Entry ร— (1 + 1 รท Leverage โˆ’ Maintenance margin).

How to use it

  1. Choose Long or Short.
  2. Enter your entry price and your leverage (for example 10x).
  3. Enter the maintenance margin rate โ€” the default is 0.5%.
  4. Read the estimated liquidation price and how far the price must move to reach it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the exact liquidation price my exchange will use?

No. This is a simplified estimate. Exchanges differ in fees, funding rates and margin rules, so always check your exchange's own figure.

What happens at the liquidation price?

Your position is closed automatically and you can lose the margin you put up for that trade.

Does higher leverage mean a closer liquidation price?

Yes. Higher leverage moves the liquidation price much closer to your entry price, so a small move against you can liquidate the position.
